Confirmation Year 1:
-2yr. Program
-Student must be enrolled in 9th-12th in High School
- Student must provide copy of Baptism and First Communion Certificate
-Students will be required to attend weekly Sunday mass
-There will be assignments that must be turned in
-Students will be expected to take a test
-Students are required to attend a 1-day retreat for Confirmation 1.
(We recommend ensuring that if your student is planning to enroll in other school programs, please do not interfere with Confirmation schedule.) This is only to ensure every student gets the most out of the small amount of time that they attend Confirmation classes.
-Attendance is crucial to be able to receive the sacrament. Students are only allowed to miss 3 total absences throughout the year (only acceptable absences if there is a family emergency, illness with Drs. Note, or unexpected death in the family). If any student is absent more than 3 times, the student may be at risk of being dropped from the program.
We strongly suggest that if your student intends to enroll in other school programs, please ensure they do not conflict with the Confirmation schedule. This recommendation is solely to guarantee that each student maximizes the benefits from the limited duration they attend First Communion classes.
*Classes for Confirmation 2024-2025 will begin September 19th from 6:30pm-8pm. Classes for our Confirmation program will be given on Thursdays in English in the SJM school building.
*.
Parent Involvement:
-Parents are required to complete 5hrs of parent volunteer. This can be completed throughout the year by volunteering as hall monitors, teacher aid, office help, set up crew, Clean-up crew or donations.
**Mandatory Parent Orientation (without students)
